Estmak Capital and CityParks Launch Parking for Lāčplēša Skvērs in Riga

Lāčplēša Skvērs project near Riga’s Old Town takes a practical step forward, making the area more accessible and ready for future improvements. A newly completed 100-space parking lot contributes to the development of over 10 buildings across nearly 60,000 square meters.

Quarter With a New Concept

Located in a UNESCO World Heritage area, the future Lāčplēša Skvērs aims to transform an industrial zone into a thriving, modern neighborhood. The project centers on community, quality of life, and sustainability.

The focal point of the district is a preserved 19th-century chimney surrounded by a pedestrian-friendly central square. Convenient paths for walkers and cyclists enrich the car-free central area, while vehicle access is supported by a nearby parking lot for both residents and visitors.

Parking Lot Marks Development Progress

The completion of the 100-space parking lot supports the advancement of the construction and brings another partner on board, said Tatjana Arhipova, CEO of Estmak Capital, the project developer.

“This parking lot represents not only practical progress towards better accessibility, but it is also a testament to our growing partnerships – first with Lidl and now with Cityparks Latvija. We are pleased to see these collaborations advancing the development,“ Arhipova said.

Gundars Smans, CEO of Cityparks Latvija, which manages the parking lot, highlighted the location’s need for quality service: “Our goal is to deliver a smooth, user-friendly parking experience that aligns with Lāčplēša’s focus on quality and human-centered vision. Parking here must be simple and accessible for everyone.”

Cityparks Latvija, one of Latvia’s leading parking service providers, manages over 140 parking lots across ten cities, offering innovative e-parking solutions and flexible payment options.

Community-Focused Urban Concept

In Lāčplēša Skvērs, accessibility becomes key, as the entire quarter is not created for cars but for people.

The design reflects a human-centered approach, with roads for pedestrians and cyclists, green spaces, shops, cafés, and cultural events creating a sense of community. The parking lot, while close and convenient, is discreetly tucked away to preserve the area’s visual appeal.

Energy-efficient buildings balance the quarter’s historic charm with modern design. The preserved old chimney is a nod to the site’s industrial roots, while contemporary cafés and shops on the ground floor add a fresh urban feel, attracting visitors from Riga and beyond.

The project includes six residential buildings with 300 apartments and four commercial buildings covering 22,000 square meters. Estmak Capital has already signed agreements with major partners, including Lidl, and is actively developing the Lāčplēša Health Center while attracting growing interest from other potential tenants.
